Matthew 9:1-17
- Power again - Jesus' power to heal the paralytic
- Call of Matthew - Jesus calls the willing, not the popular or powerful
- Fasting and wineskin analogy - Jesus is doing a new thing. Old skins don't work anymore. The call of Matthew fits with this
Psalm 10 & Proverbs 3:7-10

- Proverbs 3:7-10 - Do not be wise in your own eyes. What a profound statement. What about those in our lives and in the world who see themselves and proclaim themselves as the wise ones?
